CONFEDERATION LANDING

Along the beach of Prince Edward Island, Canada, lays the pride of Charlottetown which is the Confederation Landing. This area is much more than the pretty waterside area of Charlottetown. It also marks the site of the unforgettable and iconic landing of the Fathers of Confederation in 1864, the exact location where these delegates to the Charlottetown Conference first came ashore. Being a waterfront, the area sees its fair share of cruise ships that dock by turning the usually tranquil waterfront to a boisterous center of activities bubbling with life. Part of this historic place is the Confederation Landing Park which is not only a beautiful place to visit but also is a place to take strolls, relax on park benches, meet new people or chat with old friends, listen to and enjoy music from local musicians and shop the craft shops for beautiful mementos.
As a notable place to visit on Prince Edward Island, Confederation Landing offers a range of activities you could try out. Here are a couple of activities to try if you are visiting confederation landing for the first time or you have just moved in.
  • Boat Tours
Adjacent to the Confederation Landing Park is the Peakes Wharf and Marina located at the foot of Great George Street serves as a center for business and recreation for tourists, visitors and islanders. The marina also offers boat rides and harbor tours during the summer when the tides are at appreciable levels which can be informative, entertaining and also relaxing at the same time.
  • Skating
Although it is usually busy during the tourist season, you should try out skating especially during the winter season. If you are out for an Exhilarating experience, then get out your roller skate and hop on the thrill of flying around on the ice.
